Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary & JCI Kootenay

The Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo is made possible through the dedication of local volunteers and organizations committed to strengthening the East Kootenay community. For many years, the event has been proudly organized by Rotary Club of Cranbrook Sunrise, whose members have helped grow the Fondo into one of the region’s premier cycling events while supporting numerous local charitable initiatives.

In 2026, the event enters an exciting new chapter as JCI Kootenay joins as a partner in delivering the Fondo. As part of the global Junior Chamber International network, JCI Kootenay is made up of young active citizens committed to leadership development, community service, and creating positive change across the region.

This partnership brings together the experience and community legacy of Rotary with the energy and leadership focus of JCI. Together, the organizations are working to ensure the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo continues to grow as both a memorable cycling experience and an event that benefits the communities of the Kootenays.

The Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo, presented by Selkirk Signs, is a non-profit event created, planned, organized and proudly led by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Cranbrook.  Our purpose is to serve as an opportunity for cyclists to participate in a world class Fondo, bring tourists to our region, and raise funds for local charitable endeavours.
